I got this plant along with a few other from Hirts Garden. The plant isn't exactly thornless. If you know plants like I do, this would have been a very nice plant to have in your collection. But when I received the plant, it wasn't exactly thornless. The thorns are soft, but they aren't thornless. The flowers are also small. Not quite a collectable specimen.

These plants are expensive on Amazon, but are the highest quality (from Hirt's Nursery) so worth it. We bought three (free shipping) for a Christmas 2009 centerpiece decoration and they are growing fast and look great! We arranged them in "cactus mix" in a larger pot and put them in a sunny Eastern exposure window. Looks like we'll have an extra large gorgeous plant, in full bloom, just in time for Christmas! I have had this for just under a month and it has definitely filled in and there is alot of new growth. There aren't any flowers yet but some of the leaves have come in with very striking deep pink tones. I also planted a start that fell off of the plant and it seems to be doing fairly well. I am definitely happy with the purchase and hope that the flowers are half as striking as the picture.

Strawberries & Cream Wax Plant - Hoya carnosa
Hoya carnosa is one of 100 species of Hoya that are native to Eastern Asia and Australia. The this easy to grow houseplant Hoya carnosa was named for Thomas Hoym, gardener to the Duke of Northumberland at the end of the 18th century.
Blooming Time: Summer: Clusters of attractive, star shaped, pink-white blossoms are produced in summer. The delicate flowers appear to be made of porcelain and are truly unique.
Culture: Hoya carnosa does best in at least 4 hours of bright indirect or curtain-filtered sunlight. Night temperatures of 60 to 65 degrees and day temperatures of 70 degrees or higher are optimal. Water freely during flowering but allow the soil to become almost dry between waterings when the plants are not rapidly growing. Fertilize every 2 months in spring and summer. Do not remove the leafless spurs or stubs, on which new flowers appear every year.
Propagation: Hoya carnosa can be propagated at anytime by air layering or by stem cuttings. A portion of the stem including one or more pairs of leaves will quickly produce roots in water or damp sand.
The plant you will receive is growing in a 4" pot.
