Historically, a family member was served dinner on a red plate to celebrate an achievement, birthday, or any occasion that calls for special recognition. And who better to produce such a piece than the company famous for its brilliantly colored glazes, especially its original Cherry Red? The 10-1/2-inch plate showcases the congratulatory "You are special" message around the rim with a sweet floral motif that is repeated in the center of the serving area. It comes in a gift box with a pen to write on the plate's backside and a card explaining the custom. Made in Germany; hand wash once pen has been used to write on surface.
