(More customer reviews)works superbly for animal that eat plants. You spray it and it goes systemic. Months later, animals like deer that would normally devour your roses are still leaving them along. When you spray, you will probably get a little on your hands and it's real easy to get some in your mouth...thereafter you will have a bad taste that will take hours to leave your mouth, do what you will.
It is NOT a repellent in the sense that blood meal scares rabbits away by virtue of the smell of blood. It is more something that makes it so leaf eaters will take a bite or two and then leave the plant, leaves, stem and roots, alone from the awful taste. However, it will not keep them from romping through your plantings...they just won't *eat* them.
Note also that you do *not* use this on vegetables or anything you would eat (D'uh)
There *is* another Ropel product for repelling Dogs, Cats and Bird...I have no idea if or how or how well that product works....maybe squirrel hater should try that.
