I received this product a few weeks ago. The bottom of the potty and the step stool which can be stored underneath are both severely bulged which makes the seat very wobbly. I called customer service and the rep acted like it was the strangest thing and immediately sent out a replacement....which had the SAME problem. I called again and this rep said that rather than send the entire seat again, he would send little foot pads. (I was not happy about this option since the step stool still "pops" when stood on and I'm sure my son won't like that) Today I received a package with some random piece that doesn't even resemble a piece from this potty chair. I sent an email to customer service (their phone system is closed at an unusually early hour) explaining the situation and demanding resolution ASAP! I'm just glad I bought a chair WAY before my son is "old enough" to be potty trained. I gave it 2 stars because it has a lot of included features that make it stand out from other potty chairs and I think if I got one that didn't wobble I would absolutely love it!
It includes a bottle of Johnson's Buddies foaming hand wash along with a coupon for $1 off another bottle. It does have a spot for flushable wipes (haven't bought any to see if they fit yet), and for toilet paper (which stores in the chair if you don't want them to have their own roll - a very good idea for young children who like to TP the bathroom every chance they get!) The lid removes easily and also replaces easily. I would prefer that it didn't remove so easily, but that may just be me. The boys deflector shield is not built-in. It attaches to the underside of the cushioned seat. It seems to me like it may be prone to breaking with frequent use if the boy isn't gentle with it, but it may hold up better than I think. Girls can simply leave it off.
I will update this review when I hear back from customer service and (hopefully!) get a potty chair that my son can actually use!
UPDATE: More than a year later, I still have no resolution about the seat bulging. I eventually bought my own foot pads to keep the seat from wobbling while my son uses it. The pee shield has itself held up much better than anticipated. However, the plastic covering of the seat where the shield is inserted has split open and that is causing me to discard this potty since every time it gets used and washed the seat fills with water (maybe more!) and it is then released when a child sits on it. The seat did take over a year to form the crack and I do have 2 kids who sit on the seat very frequently, so if you have only 1 child (especially if it's a girl!) this problem isn't as likely to happen to you. Also, the lid cracked after only a few months of use and was thrown away. My kids just wouldn't leave it on! Frankly, that doesn't bother me as much as I would've thought though. Just thought I'd update so you know what happened with customer "service" and so you have an idea of how the potty holds up to frequent use.
