Many (if not all) modern vehicles come with seatbelt pre-tensioners that activate in the event of a crash. This product prevents the seatbelt mechanism from doing its job and could potentially contribute to a malfunction that will actually cause your child more harm than good.
If you are concerned about your childs safety in a booster seat, buy your child a 5-point harnessing seat that is rated for their weight instead. Believe it or not, car seat manufacturers make 5-point seat models that are rated up to 80 pounds. These seats are a much better item for peace of mind about your childs safety.
"Safety Mom" Allison Rhodes has no engineering degree or any formal training in crash safety testing. Her site (safetymom.com) doesn't even list that she has a CPST certification (Child Passenger Safety Technician). I went to her website and searched the internet in hopes that I was wrong, but I have been unable to find any indication that "Safety Mom" is anything but a mom that sells her crusade to companies in return for her endorsement.
Being aware of your child's weight, using a properly rated car seat/booster, using said car seat/booster according to the manufacturers exact directions, and ensuring that the seat/booster you are using is compatible with your vehicle will be the safest method of transporting your child in your vehicle.

Why I left this product review: I am a parent of 2 boys, this morning Amazon.com sent me an email recommending this product. I felt that it was imperative that other parents knew the whole truth about these unauthorized, unapproved modifications to car seats/booster usage.
